How to Play
Rummy is a game of skill that requires skills of the player and has been declared legal by the Supreme Court of India. This also applies to cash rummy games. You can play rummy in Our App-High Jack Rummy and win money and that is perfectly legal and safe.
Rank of Cards
K (high), Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, A. (In many forms of Rummy, the ace may rank either high or low.)
Object of the Game
Each player tries to form matched sets consisting of groups of three or four of a kind, or sequences of three or more cards of the same suit.
The Play
Beginning with the player to the left of the dealer, players either draw the top card of the stock or take the top card of the discard pile and add it to his hand. The player may also lay down on the table, face up, any meld (matched set). If the player does not wish to lay down a meld, he discards one card, face up, onto the discard pile. If the player has drawn from the discard pile, he may not discard the same card on that turn.
Laying Off
A player may add one or more from their hand to any matched set already shown on the table. Thus, if threes are showing, they may add the fourth three; if 10, 9, 8 are showing, they may add J, or Q, J, 7, or 7, 6.
Going Out
When a player gets rid of all of their cards, he/she wins the game.
If all of their remaining cards are matched, the player may lay them down without discarding on their last turn. This ends the game and there is no further play.
If the last card of the stock has been drawn and no player has gone out, the next player in turn may either take the top of the discard pile, or may turn the discard pile over to form a new stock (without shuffling it) and draw the top card. Play then proceeds as before.
How to Keep Score
After a successful show, the winner or all players score their hand. In most variations numbered cards have certain assigned points and the royal cards (J-Q-K) have assigned points and the A often has a different point value. Scoring often involves each player adding up points in their melded cards (sets and runs) and deducting points from cards that have not been melded. The point would be the amount you win through this game.Each player pays to the winner the pip value of the cards remaining in their hand, whether the cards form matched sets or not. Face cards count 10 each, aces 1 each, and every other cards its pip value.
Winings!
When you are playing rummy cash games, it is based on a pre-decided rupee value. Top two winners (the second win is who lose the less point among the the rest) of the game win the entire cash amount lost by the other players at the end of the game. Here is how the calculation is done.
First winner = (Sum of all points of opponents) X (Rupee value of the point) X 0.7 - High Jack Rummy Fee
Second winner = (Sum of all points of opponents) X (Rupee value of the point) X 0.3 - High Jack Rummy Fee
Here is an example that will help us understand this better:
Example:
Total of 6 players playing points rummy for cash on Rs. 860 table. Each point has a pre-decided value of Rs. 4. There will be 1 player who will be the winner and remaining 5 will lose the game. The losing points of the remaining 5 players would be 45, 78, 23, 20, 40 respectively. The winnings will be calculated as:
First winner=4x (45+78+23+20+40)x0.7 = Rs. 576.8
Second winner=4x (45+78+23+20+40)x0.3 = Rs. 247.2
This amount, after the deduction of High Jack Rummy fee will reflect in the player’s account.
